The Spanish composer Jose Iges and the artist Concha Jerez used more than just the sounds of the language, the consonants and vowels for their live performance of "ARGOT": they also integrated the acoustics of the room in which the piece ìARGOTî was presented, the Liechtenstein Palace.
Designed and performed as a multi-media performance, "ARGOT" leads the listener to explore the acoustic space between the four different languages and to perceive their relationships to one another. According to the authors, the listener becomes a kind of "inter-linguist" in this way. INTERFACES at two levels: ART and LANGUAGE.
