Franz Pomassl produced AIRCRA exclusively for KUNSTRADIO.
The source material of this piece are the data used for the reconstruction of airplane-crashes such as the voice-recordings and the signal-analysis-data of the airplane-black boxes. Pomassl is interested in "elaborating and processing radical moments". He is after an enhancement of the intensity of these moments by the forced compression of the material. Acustical irritations of an originally continuous flow form an underlying structure of AICRA - (e.g. sudden disruptions of, or spontaneous deviations from the sequences of the original sound-document).

Franz Pomassl: "Traditional listening habits are disrupted; the uncompromising sounds challenge the attention and reciptivity of the (radio-)listeners, potentially provoking new kinds of aural phenomena and psychacoustic events.."

In his acoustic works, conceptual artist and "psycho- and physiomusician" Franz Pomassl deals primarily with the immanent tactics of musical composition, the technologies of its production and the structures of its distribution and presentation.
