3 Corner Tellus - Vienna II

A radiomix of the collaborative live - event "3 Corner TELLUS" from October 17th, 2001 between Harvestworks, New York, send+receive, Winnipeg and Kunstradio, Vienna. The artists involved were David Grubbs, duul.drv & DJ Kornelius and Peter Szely.

The project 3 Corner TELLUS was part of this years send+receive festival, Winnipeg. Artists from the 3 cities Winnpeg, New York and Vienna jammed together on line. The starting point of the live on-line event, which was broadcasted simultanously on the Community Radio CKUW 95.9 FM, was the socalled TELL US TOOLS. TELL US TOOLS is an artproject by Taketo Shimada in cooperation with Christian Marclay. The project consists of a limited edition of two records - each with the same content including illustrated directions describing how to "sample, mix and spin like a professional DJ." The project alos has an on-line part with samples choosen by Shimada from soundworks of the 80ties and 90ties by well known artists e.g. Nicolas Collins, Kiki Smith, Catherine Jauniaux & Ikue Mori, Joe Jones, Alison Knowles, Louise Lawler, Kohondo Style, Ken Montgomery, Christian Marclay, Isaac Jackson with Rammelzee, a.o. released on the Tellus Tools label. These samples can be mixed and remixed on line by anyone interested.

The radiomix "3 Corner TELLUS - Vienna II" by Cargnelli/Szely is based on the recordings of the three audiostreams from New York, Winnipeg and Vienna recorded during the live remix on October 17th, 2001 and is not only another version of the project 3 Corner TELLUS, but also of the project TELLUS TOOLS by Taketo Shimada.

Ein Radioremix des kollaborativen Live- Events "3 Corner TELLUS", vom 17.Oktober 2001 zwischen Harvestworks, New York, send + receive, Winnipeg und Kunstradio, Wien, an dem David Grubbs, duul.drv & DJ Kornelius und Peter Szely teilgenommen haben.

3 Corner TELLUS war ein Projekt der heurigen Ausgabe des alljaehrlich in Winnipeg stattfindenden Festivals send+receive. Kuenstler aus den mit 3 Staedten Winnipeg, New York und Wien jammten on line miteinander. Ausgangspunkt fuer das Live on line Event, das simultan auch auf CKUW 95.9 FM, einem Communitysender in Winnipeg ausgestrahlt wurde, waren die sog. TELLUS TOOLS. Dabei handelt es sich um ein Kunstprojekt von Taketo Shimada in Zusammenarbeit mit Christian Marclay. Das Projekt besteht aus einer limitierten Auflage eines DJ Tools aus zwei identischen Vinyl Platten samt schriftlichen Anweisungen "zum samplen, mixen und spin-en wie ein echter DJ". Das Projekt hat auch einen on line Teil, der ebenfalls von jedem Interessierten zum Mixen und Remixen der von Shimada ausgewaehlten Samples aus vom Label TellUs in den 80er und 90er Jahren veroeffentlichten Soundarbeiten bekannter KuenstlerInnen verwendet werden kann. Darunter finden sich Namen wie z.B. Nicolas Collins, Kiki Smith, Catherine Jauniaux & Ikue Mori, Joe Jones, Alison Knowles, Louise Lawler, Kohondo Style, Ken Montgomery, Christian Marclay, Isaac Jackson with Rammelzee, u.a.

Der Radiomix "3 Corner TELLUS - Wien II" von Cargnelli/Szely basiert auf den Aufnahmen der drei am 17.Oktober 2001 waehrend des Live Remixes aufgenommenen live Audiostreams aus New York, Winnipeg und Wien und stellt also eine weitere Version nicht nur des Projekts 3 Corner TELLUS sondern auch des Projektes TELLUS TOOLS von Taketo Shimada dar.
