Seine Soundarbeiten - u.a.
seiner Arbeit "Can you read me?".
"Can you read me / phase #3 - Quality kills and quality love scenes"
wird heute zu hören sein. Entwickelt hat Peter Battisti diese Version
für das Projekt Hören ist Sehen" von Gue Schmidt
.
auch im Klangturm in St. Pölten präsentieren wird;

Today's programme is dedicated to the artist and composer
Peter Battisti who passed away in Vienna on February 27 this year.
He regarded his sound works - a.o. radiophonic pieces and
sound installations - as a kind of temporary sculpture
"which disintegrates on leaving the room".
In the 1990s he created a number of pieces for radio which were
broadcasted by Kunstradio, among others two versions of his piece
"Can you read me?".
A further adaption of this material, a composition made of sound
tracks from sex-and-crime movies and soundsamples and loops,
"Can you read me / phase #3 - Quality kills and quality love scenes"
will go on air in tonight's broadcast. Peter Battisti developed this
version for Gue Schmidt's project
Hören ist Sehen / To Hear is to See".
Artist collegues have provided personal statements: Sabine Breitwieser,
Hannes Priesch and Manfredu Schu who founded the artist run gallery and
group REM in the 1980s with Peter Battisti; Gue Schmidt who within
the range of the already mentioned project "Hören ist Sehen / To Hear Is To See"
brought Battisti's work to Bogotá, Istanbul, Mexico, Acapulco, Graz and will
present it shortly at the Klangturm in St. Pölten; Fritz Ostermayer who, besides
Peter Battisti and Manfredu Schu, is one of the "authors" of their short cojoint
sound piece "urwald" (jungle). This early piece from 1981 will also be part of
today's programme.
