Im Rahmen des "moving patterns" Festivals, mit dem Ö1 Kunstradio bereits zum 2. Mal kooperiert und das auch dieses Jahr neue / elektronische Musik aus Österreich einem New Yorker Publikum präsentieren wird, werden Klaus Filip, Arnold Haberl aka "noid" und Boris Hauf ein gemeinsames, via Internet und dank der von Klaus Filip entwickelten Software "lloopp" vernetzte Radioversion spielen.

Die Notwendigkeit, im Feld der experimentellen Elektronik eigene, adäquate Strukturen und Tools zu schaffen sowie das generelle Interesse Klaus Filips, diese aktiv mitzugestalten, liegen seiner Erfindung zugrunde. Die auf max/msp, ein in elektronischen Musikverfahren bereits viel benutztes Programm, basierende Freeware "lloopp" erlaubt den Benutzern - dank ihres modularen Aufbaus - jeweils "massgeschneiderte" Instrumente zu kreieren. Je nach persönlichen Bedürfnissen können die unterschiedlichen Komponenten aus einem Netzwerk geladen und individuell arrangiert werden. Die Tatsache, dass zahlreiche international renommierte MusikerInnen, darunter Fennesz oder Ikue Mori, seit einigen Jahren mit lloopp arbeiten zeigt, dass dies ein durchaus erfolgreiches Modell ist.
War das Instrument ursprünglich vor allem für Live-Improvisationen entwickelt worden, so wird im aktuellen Projekt von Klaus Filip eine neue Komponente für Live-Auftritte erprobt. Dabei greift er das in den vergangenen Jahren vor allem in der Kunst, aber auch gesellschaftlich viel diskutierte und verhandelte Phänomen von Dislozierung, Translokalität oder die Auflösung zentralistischer Strukturen auf. Sein Interesse richtet sich dabei auf die Möglichkeiten eines translokalen Musizierens verbunden mit einer dezentralen Kommunikationssituation.

"moving patterns 04" bildet den Rahmen, in dem Klaus Filip, Arnold "noid" Haberl und Boris Hauf eine solche "translokale Radioversion" bestreiten.
Das Layout für "tripple duo - eine musikalische dreierbeziehung" ist schnell skizziert: 3 Orte, 3 Musiker, 3 Duos, 3 Streams. In den Venues in New York, Berlin und Wien sind jeweils ein Musiker und zwei Laptops. Während der jeweils anwesende Musiker mit seinem Laptop Sound produziert, ist sein dislozenter Partner durch den zweiten, ferngesteuerten Laptop akustisch vertreten: remote mode. Auf jeder Bühne spielt so gesehen ein Duo, Filip (physisch anwesend) und Hauf (remote) in New York. In Berlin Hauf (physisch anwesend) mit "noid" via dessen ferngesteuertem lloopp-Instrument usw.

Wie das klingt ist - als Konzert - an den jeweiligen Aufführungsorten zu hören. Darüberhinaus wird, wie bereits im letzten Jahr mit der Live-Übertragung des gameboymusic club Städtematches Wien-New York, Ö1 Kunstradio als Kooperationspartner des Festivals dabei sein. Der Live-Radiomix aller drei Orte stellt eine weitere akustische Ebene des Projekts dar: hier kann das Radiopublikum, im Gegensatz zu den BesucherInnen vor Ort, alle drei Orte, alle drei Duos akustisch erfahren.

For the "moving patterns" festival 2004, Klaus Filip, Arnold Haberl aka "noid" and Boris Hauf are invited to play a radioversion in three different cities, using the internet and "lloopp", a software developed by Klaus Filip, to interlink them. "moving patterns" will once again present new / electronic music from Austria to the New York audience, and Kunstradio will collaborate with this festival for the second time already.

The necessity of creating one's own, adequate structures and tools in and for the field of experimental electronics as well as a general interest shared by Klaus Filip in actively taking part of and contributing to this process, are the basis for his novity. "lloopp", open source, freeware, and based on max/msp (a program frequently used for electronic music processes) allows its users to form individual, "custom-made" instruments using various modules. The modular structure of the programs allows for very direct access to all relevant parameters over a network and their arranging due to individual demands.
The fact that lloopp has been used for several years by many internationally renowned musicians in the experimental/electronic genre such as Fennesz or Ikue Mori shows it's a successful model. Initially developed for live improvs, the current project by Klaus Filip addresses a new component of live concerts. Here, he relates to the, especially in the art field, but also socially intensely discussed phenomenon of dislocation, translocation or the dissolution of centralistic structures. He is highly interested in the possibilities of making music in translocated situations combined with decentralized / peripheral communication situations.

"moving patterns 04" provides the framework for such a "translocal" experimental radio performance.
The layout for "tripple duo - a musical triangle" is quickly sketched: 3 venues, 3 musicians, 3 duets, 3 streams. At each venue in New York, Berlin, and Vienna there is one musician and two laptops. Whilst the musician present produces sound on his laptop, his dislocated partner is sonically represented by the second, remote controlled computer. This way, a duet is playing at each venue, Klaus Filip (physically present) and Boris Hauf (remote) in New York. In Berlin, Hauf (physically present) and "noid" via his remote controlled lloopp instrument and so on.

The acoustic results of these concerts are to be heard at the respective venues. Furthermore, Ö1 Kunstradio will take part as a festival partner - as last year already with the live broadcast of the gameboy music club match between Vienna and New York. The live radio-mix of all three venues thus forms a further acoustic layer of the project where the radio audience - quite on the contrary to the audience present at openairbar, rhiz or ausland - can hear all three venues, all three duets.
