A CASSETTE OF THIS PROGRAM CAN BE ORDERED FROM THE "ORF TONBANDDIENST"
[ Deutsche Version ] or the first time ever, the LITERATURE AS RADIO ART series presents two works in Dolby Digital Surround (http://kundendienst.orf.at/technik/stereo.html); two pieces which couldn’t be more contrary: Already since the early 1960s, Franz Mon (*1926) is counted part of the avant-garde of experimental radiophonic sound poetry. With his piece «Käm' ein Vogel geflogen», the 5.1-channel technology is turned into a field of experimentation for a hard-line articulation montage in wording. The psychiatric and author Paulus Hochgatterer (*1961) shows a different approach when he highlights the moment of the doctor’s aggression towards a patient (a suppressed moment within medicine) for a polyphonic (cerebral, lingual, intestinal, genital) «provocation» about the «doctor’s disgust» resp. the «disgusting doctor».
