Taking the stone objects of Austrian sculptor Karl Prantl as a source of inspiration, Petra Ganglbauer has created a sound piece for Kunstradio, in which she investigates the metaphoric language of stones. Motionless yet organic, the stone sculptures in Prantl’s sculpture garden in Burgenland evoke a variety of associations. Age and deterioration, nature and civilisation are some of the issues that Petra Ganglbauer investigated during a walk in the sculpture garden with fellow artists and a petrologist. She uses these recordings as well poems and archive material for her sound piece which – as in many of Ganglbauers previous works for Kunstradio – draws on the collaboration with other people. Among them are Sabine Grupe, Gertrude Moser-Wagner, Josef Ondracek, Guido Steiger and Peter Waugh. Related Links: |
