The title of the radio piece „… der Radio-Oper“ translates as „... of the radio opera ...“. It is a scenic, musical and literary treatment of the medium radio and the development of this radio opera.

Studio equipment such as microphones, cables, controll lamps etc., as well as all participating people and technical infrastructure required for the transmission of the signal to the receiver, become the stage and the ensemble oft he radio opera. On this stage, the dimensions of libretto, music, voice, atmosphere and bruitage merge.

The libretto does not – as usual in operas – tell stories of love, death and the devil, but condenses the description of the stage, the actors, the media used and their temporal processes to a radio piece.
