You
cannot portray a becoming-insect, you have to trigger or activate it.
This composition builds the narration through sound manipulation and
psycho-acoustic alteration. The narrative elements are the relations
between the sounds, the connections between different sonic
spatialities and sound materials, the revealing passages, the cuts and
the evocative inserts. This music, telling only through the sensation,
doesn’t portray anything, but magnifies an imperceptible and
obscene sensorial universe, done of buzz, drone, tiny sounds, sudden
appearances, unpredictable trajectories and sharp movements.
Radio interferences and no-input feedback textures generate a
becoming-insect too out of the noise shape and the semantic chaos. No
field recordings of insects are used: the aim is not to describe
insects as themselves, but to considerate the relations, the
influences, the indiscernibility zones between them, the world and the
human perception. Becoming an insect is shrinking, weight loss,
speed-up, generation into the interstices or underground. But is above
all moving between millions of small traces and marks, to adopt as a
signifier only for a while: weak signification, communication with the
chaos.
