The Austrian musician and composer Elisabeth Schimana has spent a week in April 2012 in Odessa. At varying times of the day she sat on the world famous Potemkin staircase, featured in Sergey Eisenstein’s movie Battleship Potemkin, observing the sea, and she made walks through the streets of Odessa. Schimana uses recordings from these Odessa moments for her live radio mix. „And every day, sitting on THE stairs – always footsteps, always feet. And every night, looking out the hotel room window – voices, birds, music. And sometimes strolling through the streets or wandering along the ocean.“ (Elisabeth Schimana) |
