The program unfolds showing threads that
populate our understanding of radio, as a "mixium", a medium that uses
mixture of genres, mixture of information levels, people, radio as a
medium so receptive to human culture. Radio as a "mixium" is open to
processes, and not only to products or effects. This is specially good
for the practice we develop, where the live component is the most
relevant if one wants to look its essence. On the other hand we wanted
to propose a non linear narrative where the fragments reveal the
structure of the piece. Our broadcast has the form of Osiris, it presents itself dismembered, and sometimes illegible. This is a sacred form, where the open fragments leave, black spots, dark matter being the main tissue, what does black matter mean in the radio dimension? Dark spots, occult energy pulsates there, it lays there along with what is not said, in everything that is proposed. Binary oppositions are exceeded by dark semiotic matter. Opposites are dominant in rational discourse, what sense does it make to speak of opposites in a discourse about the mixture? The program is not closed to a final interpretation, even though there is a final whisper, noise is placed beyond music and style just like radio is placed beyond reality and mind is others, more than I. Kachaskan is an attempt at showing fragments, noise and encounters, meetings through south America, in Arequipa, Cusco in Perú and in Chile, Valparaíso, Santiago and Punta Arenas. Improbable chances are at stake in the interview with Nicolas Collins, something that was not previously organised and took place in one of the most remote sites in the planet, from Altiplano to Patagonia. Kachaskan, Noise Andino from Bolivia to Antártica, with recordings from elpueblodechina, Warida Libre, Juan Espiral, Héctor Aguilar, Lluvia Morada, Nicolas Collins and Judith Buttler. I have elaborated a radio poem instantiating opposites. Posing radio against noise (ruido), mind and reality, system and kontra, sexuality and legal conventions, the I and the others. 0:00 Presentación Kachaskan, Noise Andino from Bolivia to Antártica produced by elpueblodechina radio ruido mente realidad system kontra 2:26 epdch juddita (recording of juddith buttler speaking to students in Universidad Diego Portales in Santiago de Chile 2011) 7:47 epdch radio misterios 8:23 epdch radio ruido 10:57 Sordecer (1998) Hector aguilar ?voz (chile) jhon cruz ?guitarra (peru) miguel tipacti ?bateria (peru 11:15 epdch Kachaskan, Noise Andino from Bolivia to Antártica, with recordings from elpueblodechina, Warida Libre, Juan Espiral, Héctor Aguilar, Lluvia Morada, Nicolas Collins and Judith Buttler. radio mente ruido realidad 11:31 kachaskan Nic Collins interviewed by epdch with inductor noise in Punta Arenas (CL), January 2012 12:41 Juan Manuel Avilés, La Paz, Bolivia (bo) report on Asimetria festival, Arequipa (Pe) for noise and free culture 13:43 epdch Asimetria 14:54 Warida Libre (Pe) 19:09 epdch Shackleton 22:31 Juan Manuel Avilés. electro 24:50 kachaskan Nic Collins interviewed by epdch with inductor noise improvisation in Punta Arenas (CL), January 2013 46:19 epdch mente 46:38 Lluvia morada (CL) 53:18 kachaskan Nic Collins interviewed by epdch with inductor noise improvisation in Punta Arenas (CL), January 2013 Related links http://elpueblodechina.org http://soundcloud.com/polar-2 http://soundcloud.com/lluviamorada http://asimtria.org/ http://soundcloud.com/juanmanuel7 http://soundcloud.com/waridalibre http://soundcloud.com/fiorella16 collage by Felipe Klaue (2011) |
