1915 is a date that reminds us all of the fragility of our human society and its incredible arrogance: Metz Yeghern (the Great Crime) also known as the Armenian Genocide of 1915.

Like a time machine 1915 The Armenian Files begins on April 24, 2015 with a all-day-long streaming on Radio Lada jumping the day after to Bruxelles with the exhibition of imaginary maps of Armenia presented by the Galeire Mario Mazzoli (Berlin) at ArtBrussels (one of the major European contemporary art fairs). 1915 The Armenian Files continues as a 50 minutes live radio performance for Ö1- Kunstradio.

The project will travel to Istanbul, Beirut (exploring the Arab Image Foundation), Erevan and several other places in order to meet people and collect images, sounds, stories, voices. It is the starting point of a digital database, a hub for the development of a constellation of projects and collaborations involving historicians, programmers, scholars, artists, writers, scientists.

This project is produced by Giardini Pensili (italy) in collaboration with ORF Kunstradio (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation), Galerie Mario Mazzoli (Berlin), Clocktower (New York), Arthub (Shanghai), FuturePerfect Productions (New York), Marsèll (Venezia), RNE Ars Sonora / Radio Clasica (Madrid).
