RADIOKUNST - KUNSTRADIO

Die Kochastronautin

Life in outer space, aboard a star ship, subject to speculations and imaginations – and we are grateful for every information that astronauts and cosmonauts share about their everyday life. Especially, if it resembles our own lifes: getting up, having breakfast, working, exercising, relaxing, eating, going to sleep, etc.

Special glimpses into life on board of the International Space Station ISS are offered by Mariola Brillowska with her radio play “Die Kochastronautin” (“The kitchen astronaut”). Star-chef Lola joins the ISS crew in order to treat them with refined meals. However, some astronauts cannot digest Lolas self-confident, bold attitude – they even consider ways of turning her into the subject of a scientific study. Seasoned with extraterrestrial sounds and songs by Bela Brillowska, the piece is a tasty sound trip through the universe and back.

Content:
„Lola Brzozadrzewska is the first star chef on board the ISS, the International Space Station, plus she is the first Polish in space. Petra, her personal nutrition coach, supplies her with all kinds of groceries. The astronauts Hipolit Watter, Adrian Geberit, Adam Apell and Charalampos Samotraki love Lolas cuisine, but they feel disturbed by her tone and chants. Nonetheless Lola appears on the cover of „Geo“, the international space travel magazine, which honors Lola in a special edition as the “singing kitchen astronaut”. Lola is thrilled and invites the families of the astronauts for a meal on the ISS.”
