In film it is the big feelings - in Kunstradio too.

We see ourselves surrounded by an overflowing economy of narrative, in which the streaming services constantly screw together new constellations to create the most astonishing hybrids:
Housewives mutate into zombies and are fed by their families; vampires turn out to be teen idols with heartaches; whole suburbs try each other's spouses through; corrupt local politics serve as a folkloric background for suburban chicks from Döbling in high heels;

Celibate pupils are trimmed from sexotherapeutic mothers to experts. And again a virgin unintentionally becomes a mother - this time, however, in vitro and with a South American migration background. The artists Nika Pfeifer and Lukas Matthaei face the Novela challenge and produce for Ö1 Kunstradio meandering morphing audio stories from simple everyday material via word loans, microstories and found footage. Using live mix soundscaping with 3 CD players, Michael Fischer creates associative, counteracting and affirmative sound environments from samples from about 40 CDs.

Based on the question of the first time (and their inexhaustible answers), they focus on the feasibility of stories, point out absurd extensions of possibilities, find and develop alternative courses and offside narratives in a playful setting.
They fill the ether with language and sounds, merge drama with drama, happy end with dead end, passion light with exhaustion without end. Transforming the radio into a jukebox, a personal you-press-we-play-radionovela-machine.
