Deena Abdelwahed

Deena Abdelwahed ist in der alternativen Musikszene Tunesiens verwurzelt und hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, der Electronic Dance Music des Landes erfrischende, innovative und experimentelle Elemente zu injizieren. Sie begann ihre musikalische Karriere als Funk- und Jazzsängerin in der Band des Jazzmusikers Fawzi Chekili und der Gruppe So Soulful, hat sich aber mittlerweile der elektronischen Musik und dem DJing zugewandt. Im Jahr 2011 arbeitete sie mit dem Kollektiv World Full of Bass, zurzeit ist sie im Kollektiv Arabstazy aktiv. Als Solistin tritt Deena Abdelwahed weiterhin in Clubs und auf Festivals in Tunesien wie auch auf der ganzen Welt auf.

Issuing from the Tunisian alternative music scene, Deena Abdelwahed works to inject a dose of innovation and experimentation into electronic dance music. Trained in jazz as a singer and performer, Abedlwahed has taken up electronic music production and performing live and as a DJ. She is currently part of the Arabstazy collective. Abdelwahed debuted her musical career while accompanying jazzman Fawzi Chekili and the group So Soulful as a funk and jazz singer. In 2011, she joined the World Full of Bass collective. Independent today, she continues performing in Tunisian nightclubs and festivals, as well as abroad.
