Bo Bell



Bo Bell is an electroacoustic composer and performer working primarily in interactive computer contexts. He performs on laptop computer, bassoon, percussion, electric bass, and found instruments. He has produced a large body of works in theatrical and improvisatory contexts in New York City, performing at such venues as HERE, the New York Theater Workshop, the Ohio Theater, Theater for a New City, the Knitting Factory, and various house parties and impromptu club events. His work has also been performed at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco and CalTech in Pasadena, CA. His recording credits include works on Black Saint Records (with Anthony Braxton) and Frog Peak Music (with Larry Polansky). Bo holds degrees from Wesleyan University and Brooklyn College, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at UC Santa Barbara, focusing on electronic and computer music. He previously taught music and theater in NYC public schools for the Metropolitan Opera Guild.
