Bernard Clarke


is an award winning broadcaster with RTE lyric fm (Ireland’s State Radio). His new music programme, Nova, has won three consecutive PPI (National Irish Radio Awards) and one New York Festival’s awards; he’s won prizes for documentaries on Patrick Kavanagh, Glenn Gould, The Doors, and Jimi Hendrix. Clarke has also been shortlisted for the Prix Italia and Prix Europa. Recent work includes being commissioned by RTE’s Digital Radio Services for a five hour documentary on Jimi Hendrix-first broadcast on September 18th 2010, forty years after the great guitarists death; a radiophonic fantasia on the RMS Titanic disaster, commissioned for broadcast by RTE lyric fm, on Saturday April 14th 2012, at 23:40 pm, exactly one hundred years to the minute that the liner collided with the iceberg; a guest curation of the monthly Kaleidoscope concert series in Dublin; Djing the first Deutsche Grammophon Yellow Lounge gig in Ireland; curating the listening posts for the Wired Art For Ears and Retinas festival; performing Cage's Themes and Variations with the Quiet Music Ensemble at the Child of Tree John Cage celebrations in Cork (Jan 2012), and representing RTE and Irish composers at the International Rostrum for Composers in Lisbon, Dublin and Vienna.
