Germaine Koh is a Canadian visual artist and independent curator working
in various media. Her work focuses on the significance of everyday actions,
familiar objects and common places. Koh has recently presented solo exhibitions
at Plug In ICA (Winnipeg, 2001); the Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver,
2001); Arte in Situ / La Torre de los Vientos (Mexico City, 2000); Latitude
53 (Edmonton, 2000); Ex Teresa Arte Actual (Mexico City, 1999); Los Angeles
Contemporary Exhibitions (1999); YYZ Artists' Outlet (Toronto, 1998);
and le Centre des arts actuels SKOL (Montreal, 1998). Her work has been
included in international group exhibitions such as the 11th Biennale
of Sydney (1998), La Biennale de Montréal 2000, "Waste Management" at
the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto, 1999), "In All the Wrong Places"
at the Ottawa Art Gallery (1999), and the World Wide Video Festival (Amsterdam,
1999). Other recent group shows include "Recollection Project" at Gendai
Gallery (Toronto, 2000) and "Logo City" at Blackwood Gallery (Toronto,
2000).
