Matthias Meyer


born in Hamelin in 1972, studied at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Kiel, and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. His work was displayed in several institutions, including the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen, Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Kunstverein Hamburg, the Martin-Gropius-Bau Berlin, the DeSingel Antwerp, the Castello di Rivoli Turin, the Galerie Eva Winkeler and the Konrad Fischer Galerie. He recieved awards and grants: the Brockmann Preis of the City of Kiel, an artist's grant from the City of Hamburg, a traveling scholarship donated by Neue Kunst in Hamburg, and he was artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts Paris. He lives in Hamburg.
