Pavel Novotný


Born in 1976, currently an assistant teacher at the German Department of the Pedagogical Faculty in Liberec.
He is also finishing his doctoral work at the German department of the Philosophical Faculty of Palacký University in Olomouc on "The roots of literary montage and collage in German literature". He is a poet and author of experimental texts created by transferring speech into written form.
In 2003, Novotný released a collection of poems entitled "Sběr" (Collection). His writings have appeared in the magazines Tvar and MitOst, among others. Together with Jaromír Typlt, he prepared a stage adaptation of Kurt Schwitters's dadaist "Ursonate" (presented at the Writers' Festival in Prague and the Theatre of European Regions festival in Hradec Králové, among others). He is also the founder and lead singer of the semi-musical group "Nabídka dne" (Daily Special), with whom he recorded the double album "Svět očima Munkikiho & Ajntopf" (The World as seen by Munkiki & Eintopf).
