Günther Zechberger


was born 1951 in Zams / Tyrol / Austria. He studied composition and guitar at the conservatory of the City of Innsbruck as well as musicology at the University of Innsbruck. Besides, Zechberger took private studies in composition with Prof. Dr. Boguslaw Schaeffer.
He participated in courses and workshops for computer composition and electro-acoustic music, amongst others at "CCMIX" in Paris.
He has been working on alternative music-pedagogical concepts for many years – with workshops for computer music, improvisation and graphically notated music.
In 1984 he founded the "Tiroler Ensemble für Neue Musik" and has led it since. Zechberger has made radio and CD recordings and live radio broadcasts; he teaches Harmony and Harmonic Theory at the Department of Musicology at the University of Innsbruck.
