Description:
The beginning proposition two years ago was to listen new investigations in sound and in music,in knowing that much of it was not broadcast or audible in the traditional networks, and was to find new forms of presentation which would be not common and which permit to put one beside others researches in sound in contemporary art and in music. The chosen standard is the recorded sound, and the links or bridges are varied (sound installation, video art, rock music, techno, television, electroacoustic music, contemporary written music, radio, performance art, experimental music, jazz music, conceptual art, fluxus movement, sound poetry, sound art, and so on).

How the sound invests today the contemporary languages? and what artistic and musical activity is possible today?

The new Collage jukeBox project, after the past ones Collage Apartment's musics and CollageTV, uses the Jukebox device for becoming mobile and permanent and for appearing now on a SOUND EDITION. This edition is constituted by CDaudio banks which are evolutive depending on new contributions, and is representative of new sound investigations in art and in music. In these two domains, there are not a lot of possibilities for develop researches which go across the area of traditionnal representations, COLLAGE offers this possibility to the artists and musicians in a transversal proposition with using singular broadcasting forms. Collage experiments new ways into the contemporary languages (contemporary art, experimental music, contemporary music, and so on). Collage project develops itself since two years with few participants (150) and under few forms (TV, WWW, broadcastings). You can find a participants list and an events list on the website Collage. You can send your contributions (on DAT, CD or audio-cassette) to the postal address you can read above, with the constraint of two or three works of maximum 10 minutes each, by participant. The specific pieces for this project of JukeBox are welcome of course. The copyrights are kept by the artists regarding the Collage contract (see the website Collage) which you must send with your contributions. The JukeBox is free and needs no money to listen to the works. All the selected artists will be nominated for each presentation of the project. The first presentation will take place this summer in Bregenz, Austria (KunstVerein), in the frame of an international event about soundart.
