Milos Crnjanski


Milos Crnjanski was born in Congrad 26th of October 1892.
Started writing in 1908. Studies of art history and philosophy in Vienna. In world war I he was on the front in Galicia. Finished his studies in Belgrade. He was appointed for the cultural ataché in the embassy of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia in Berlin, Rome and Lissbon. During world war II he lived in emigration in England.

Milos Crnjanski is a leading poet of the expressionist wing of Serbian modernism. His poetry and his prose has been translated and published in most of the leading world languages.

He died in Belgrade.
