Radio Educacion provides a telephone link for the Mexican composer, musician and radio artist Jorge Reyes to join the network of Radiotopia - The Long Night of Radio Art with a live intervention. In THE WAY OF THE JAGUAR Jorge Reyes, who frequently performs live - also in what he calls "ritual ceremonies" meant to be spiritual experiences for the audience - brings aspects of his recombinatory art to the radio. In 'a liturgy of modernity', Reyes combines flutes, ocarinas, sea-shells, Pre-Columbian instruments and percussion with synthesizers and voice to cast a spell of ritualistic intensity. Like shadows from Mexico's sultry and savage past, his his evocations of jungles, jaguars and aztec rites have a dark quality to them ....
