Lev Berinsky was born in 1939 in the Soviet Union. His first poems written in Russian have been published in 1953. In 1981 he started to write poetry in Yiddish. In 1991 he immigrated to Isreal. His poems have been translated from Yiddish into Russian, Germain, Spanish, Italian and Hebrew. berinsky has been awareded with several prizes for his poetry in Yiddish.
