LUXOR II
Slide-Installation with Sound

The LUXOR SERIES was an extensive project - partly stimulated by a first trip to EGYPT. As the series developed, it came to include many large-scale drawings, photographic constructions, and several works for dia-projection (installations).

LUXOR II was a "walking wall": left foot forward, right foot forward, left foot forward, etc. comprised of alternating pairs of red-coloured slides projected by two coordinated slide projectors.

The image of the walking feet was supported by the recorded sound of the projectors, amplified to cover the sound of the actual projectors. The sound heard in the space was therefore not the "real" sound but a rhythmic simulation - a sound element.

LUXOR II
