The eight recordings that constitute "soundmap vienna" originate partly from locations inside the city that bear an everyday relationship with me and partly have been "discovered" during a few occasional strolls.
What they have in common is that they don't bear an apparent reference to Vienna, neither acoustically nor visually – no Fiakers and no Vienna Boys Choir, sorry for that – and that most of them were taken at unusual times during the day. These recordings were left unprocessed and subsequently arranged into a 19-minute long collage. the second, more experimental collage was composed out of midi-data and Soundfiles that have been extracted via specific software from the photographs taken at the recording sites.
