The
Austrian musician, composer and media artist Bernhard Loibner has
selected works by Swiss radio artist Andres Bosshard to be
re-played in this edition of Kunstradio, with the 2005 piece "Zwischen
Antares und Altair" http://www.kunstradio.at/2005B/04_12_05.html as the central work. It was developed in the framework of a 5.1 Surround Sound workshop hosted by Andres Bosshard. Bernhard Loibner: "Radio art is the use of radio as a medium for Art" is the first sentence of Kunstradio's radio art manifesto, and that's precisely what Andres Bosshard has realised. In his piece „Zwischen Antares und Altair", Bosshard has instlalled a three-dimensional audio tape loop in the ORF Funkhaus in Vienna and employed it in the development of the piece. Therewith, sounds of the building were included, interlooping the material space with radio space. Architecture is transformed into sound, everyday sounds and stories are cartographed into a sonic landscapes, and a fascinating work of radio art is created. "Radio art is not a combination of radio and art. Radio art is radio by Artists", as stated in the radio art manifesto. This sentence fully applies to Andres Bosshard." ![]() |
