  • Schwedenplatz in the center of Vienna, together with Morzinplatz, to which there is no visible demarcation, is one of the most important junctions of public transport, streetcars and subways cross here, buses depart for the airport. Bridges cross the Danube Canal, a boat station for the Twin City Liner to Bratislava was opened in 2010, and a redesign of the square to provide a better experience for pedestrians has been under discussion since 2011. On November 2, 2020, a terrorist attack was carried out here by a Viennese sympathizer of the Islamic State, on the eve of the 2nd lockdown to contain the Corona pandemic.

The book "Vienna, Schwedenplatz: polyphon" is published by Sonderzahl Verlag and gathers encounters with and on this square, written by 106 Austrian or Vienna-based authors, written in prose or as poems, one page at a time: page by page a new linguistic square.

  • The Ö1 Kunstradio production features excerpts from all the texts, which were recorded in the studio with four actors - as spontaneous text dialogues - and merge with sound recordings of the square and associative musical quotations to form an acoustic portrait of the square.
