Friedrich Kittler
in memoriam Friedrich Kittler (1943 – 2011)literary scholar and a media theorist, was the chair of Aesthetics and Media History at the Humboldt University Berlin. Starting in 1993. He studied German and French Literatures and Philosophy at the University of Freiburg/Breisgau. From 1987 to 1993, he served as chair of German Literature at the Ruhr-University Bochum. He was a member of the Hermann von Helmholtz-Zentrum für Kulturtechnik in Berlin and the research group “Bild Schrift Zahl” (DFG).
