Brigitte Wilfing
Geboren 10.4.1976. Ihre künstlerische Arbeit als Choreografin und Tänzerin ist von der Zusammenarbeit mit KünstlerInnen aus unterschiedlichen Sparten und TheoretikerInnen geprägt. Ihre inter- und transdisziplinären Projekte setzen den Schwerpunkt auf popkulturelle Themen, auf die Verschränkung von Theorie und Praxis, auf die Verbindung von Konzeptkunst mit Street Art. In ihrem Musikprojekt demimondaine eignet sie sich männlich und weiblich konnotierte Bewegungscodes an und vermischt sie zu einer nicht trivialen Körperlichkeit. Sexuelle Identitäten werden so zu einem lustvollen Spielfeld für performative Praxen und Körperpolitik. Sie arbeitet an den Formaten Performance, Lecture-Performance, Installation und Konzert und entwickelte u.a. symposion pornonom in Zusammenarbeit mit der Choreografin Sabine Sonnenschein, WUK (2009), RAVE. mit der Videokünstlerin Sabine Marte und dem Komponisten Jorge Sánchez-Chiong, CrossbreedsFestival (2009), Psychotic Einzelkind mit dem Klangkünstler Joke Lanz, WUK (2009), MyCaT® – Mystery Car Test® - Donaufestival Krems(2008). Als Performerin und Tänzerin arbeitete sie u.a. mit Robert Steijn, Franz Poelstra, Oleg Soulimenko, Emil Hrvatin, Janez Jansa, Superlooper, Mathilde Monnier, vis plastica, Carpa Theater, Armin Anders, Jutta Schwarz und Akemi Takeya. Brigitte Wilfing is a choreographer, performer and artistic researcher. Since 2006, she has been working on the permeation of practice and theory and has initiated numerous collaborative projects with artists and theorists from heterogeneous fields. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the ARC at the mdw, where she also teaches artistic research and performance theory. In 2019, she co-founded the transdisciplinary ensemble andother stage with composer Jorge Sánchez-Chiong, with which she has staged commissioned works in institutional art contexts and everyday settings – from major stages to the kitchen table – where hopeful futures can be negotiated, danced, and sensorially experienced.
