Michael
Woody’s work addresses tensions between origin and
representation. Michael has an MFA in New Media from the University of
Illinois and an MFA in Painting from the Savannah College of Art and
Design. He has exhibited works in video festivals and galleries
including the Ende Tymes Festival and Vaudeville Park in Brooklyn, Park
Side Cinema in Chicago, The Arts Armory in Pasadena, One Minute Films
in the London, Naples and Hong Kong, and The AC Institute in New York
City. Michael’s experimental sound work has been broadcast
in Chicago, New York state, and Mexico City through the Radius Project,
and in the UK at Tyneside Cinema as part of the Reuse Aloud series. He
is currently listed on the Transmission Arts Database as an important
artist working in the field. His video and photography work have been
featured in several Literary and Arts Journals including The Journal of
Short Film, The Cutbank Literary Journal and Out of
Nothing. Michael’s initial work from The Arlington Project
was featured in Chicago's Bad at Sports and was listed by NewCityArt as
being a part of one of the 11 best shows in Chicago and the
Midwest. He has been a fellow at several artist residencies
including The Santa Fe Art Institute, The Wassaic Project, The Virginia
