| The term COMMUNICATION
NOISES (CN) has two levels of meaning: 1. CN are "side-effect" noises produced through communication (electrostatic noises, traffic, plumming, ventilation systems) - having no meaning by themselves, yet letting the spectator know that some kind of communication is in progress; 2. CN disturb other means of audio communication - at this level they appear as classic noise, making other/'useful' audio material blurred, unclear and uncertain. Therefore, every Communication Noise is meaningful and meaningless at the same time, deserving both attention and neglect. |
| Technically, COMMUNICATION NOISES is organised into Sound Fonts (Creative Labs SF2 format), randomly played via SOUNDER software and then streamed via Internet. The starting set of sounds contains eight CN and every 24 hours it is be 'refreshed' with new sounds (while some of the previous ones are removed). |
| Communication Noises is supported by SOUNDER software http://www.sounder.com. |
