Armeno Alberts



born 1959 in Deventer, Holland. He studied piano at the Conservatory of Arnhem and later studied composition with Walter Hekster and electronic music at the Institute for Sonology in Utrecht.
He has taught at the CEM-Studio (Centre for Electronic Music) since 1980 and participated as festival organiser in the "European Minimal Music Project" and diverse festivals in Europe and Brasil. In 1999 he became artistic director of CEM.
He is also working as editor / producer, for the department of contemporary music at VPRO Radio's Channel 4 and is the artistic director of VPRO's International Audio Art Project. Currently, his main interest is in the relationship between music and visual arts. For his compositional work, he has devoted himself mainly to sound installations, sound sculptures, radiophonic works and electro-acoustic compositions.
