MUSIQUE CONCRÉTE
Jérôme
Noetinger / Lionel
Marchetti
"Organizing sounds in time" (Jérôme
Noetinger)
With this concert, Marchetti and Noetinger want to present another aspect
of their artistic work, namely pieces of "fixed" sounds, of "concrete"
music. By playing their own pieces as well as an interpretation of works
by Canadian Jean-François Laporte, they will install a sound space and
introduce three different approaches to Musique concrète.
If you want to put it correctly, Musique concrète is the electro-acoustic
music developed around 1950 by Pierre Schaeffer in Paris, music which
is recorded on tape and reproduced via loudspeakers. These "concrete"
sounds of everyday life are recorded with microphones. Or as Noetinger
says: "What is most important is to simply listen. That's where Musique
concrète starts."
